Student Services

The Center for Learning
Akiva School strongly believes that all students can and should succeed. We recognize that every child has a unique learning profile, and we are committed to providing the individualized support, enrichment, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Through the Center for Learning, our team of dedicated professionals works closely with classroom teachers and families to identify student needs, strengthen foundational skills, provide targeted intervention, and nurture academic growth. Our services are designed to support students at every stage of their learning journey.

Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten Screenings & Intervention

Our professional team conducts in-house developmental and academic screenings in Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten to help identify students’ strengths and areas for growth.

The screenings assess key foundational skills, including:

  • Pre-literacy and early numeracy skills
  • Speech and language development
  • Fine motor development
  • Early learning and developmental skills

The purpose of these screenings is to identify areas where additional support may be beneficial and to provide timely intervention when needed. Results help inform classroom instruction and allow our professionals to work collaboratively with teachers and families to support each child’s development.

When appropriate, students may also receive individualized or group support and intervention from our professional team.
