Art

The Akiva School Art program is given in French.

The Akiva arts program is given by an Art Specialist and focuses on developing our students visual senses, creativity and ability to communicate and express themselves through artist means.  Students are encouraged to explore their creative style and expression through individual and collaborative projects and various artistic medium.  Through the art program, students learn an appreciation for art, from today and the past, and are taught how to provide constructive feedback on what they create and see.

For cycle 1, students are introduced to different artistic medium and techniques.  For cycle 2 and 3, students delve further into a wide range of artistic themes, from classic to modern to contemporary (i.e impressionist, minimalist and environmental art) to help inspire their own artistic styles.

The Jewish holiday and symbolism are also integrated into the program through drawing, paint, collage, modeling and other various art techniques.
