Akiva School’s Counselling Department is excited to introduce a new Pet Therapy Program led by our school counsellor, Shari Endleman, alongside her certified therapy dog Clifford. Clifford is a hypoallergenic mini labradoodle, who has been specially trained for this type of work. He is very gentle and has a child-friendly temperament. Pet therapy programs, such as this, have been shown to help reduce stress and anxiety, build emotional regulation skills, and support positive connections for students at school. These interactions often help students develop confidence, empathy, and positive social skills that support overall well-being.
