Sciences

The Akiva School Science Program is given in french in all levels.

The scientific method, rational, critical thinking and data manipulation are all integral parts of the Akiva science program, taught to all students by a science specialist at the school.

There are 3 main competencies in science and technology which are covered  through 3 major themes explored during the school year:

 

• the material world
• Earth and space
• the living world

These three major themes are divided into various sub-themes and taught to the different grades with age appropriate content to engage students and make them start thinking about their world around them from a scientific perspective.

In cycle 1, students explore science and technology through classroom materials and discussions.

In cycle 2 and 3, our science specialist introduces sciences experiments and activities to encourage our students to question and further explore specific topics in the science curriculum.
