Akiva School is seeking teachers for the following departments:

    • English

    • Judaic Studies

Teacher duties and responsibilities

    • Teach the primary program according to elementary curriculum
    • Create innovative pedagogical projects that promote student learning and educational success.
    • Collaborate with students’ parents and the school team

Requirements

    • Brevet d’enseignement or permanent teaching authorization issued by the Minister (or in the process of being obtained) for French and English departments.
    • Judaic studies educational background and experience for Judaic studies department

Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

    • Working in the classroom or in another room with groups of children, or individual children, as determined by the class teacher
    • Working in the classroom with the entire group together with the class teacher who is responsible for directing the activity
    • Provide additional classroom supervision as required
    • Supervising lunch recess according to a schedule determined by the administration
    • Carrying out the teacher’s lesson plans in the absence of the teacher
    • Taking part in professional development programs and staff meetings

Assistant Requirements

  • Experience working/supervising with children
  • References upon request
