“Art Speaks” is an immersive English Language Arts project in grade 6 that blends literature, poetry, and visual arts. Students selected a favorite book—ranging from beloved classics to modern literature—and explored the emotions and themes it evoked. They crafted and presented original poems and imagery videos inspired by their chosen book, created a painting that visually represented its themes, and built a detailed diorama bringing key scenes to life.

The project culminated this week in a dynamic Poetry Slam and Vernissage, where students showcased their work to parents and families. This multidisciplinary experience deepened students’ appreciation for storytelling, enhanced their creative expression, and strengthened public speaking skills. By connecting literature with art, “Art Speaks” encouraged critical thinking, emotional reflection, and artistic confidence, making learning both meaningful and memorable.
