At The Akiva School, we try to teach our students the importance of Eco-friendly living. Here are a couple of examples of projects that our school is doing to promote re-cycling and helping to keep our Earth healthy:
- Kindergarten and Grade 1 students began to collect cookie and cracker wrappers and sandwich bags for www.terracycle.ca – They already collected over 220 bags in just 4 days!
- Both Kindergarten classes have begun a composting program. Composting is even simpler than collecting wrappers. The city of Westmount is making composting so easy with an excellent support program for composters like our Kindergarten-ers!
