As the school year fast approaches, we at school are thinking, organizing, planning and brainstorming for new enriching ideas to incorporate into the year. We are confident that we will have another year of rewarding and successful education for your children. We want you to know that we are invested in all aspects of your child’s academic, social and emotional growth. With that in mind, we would just like to reiterate the commitment on behalf of our entire staff to deal with the sensitive issues that might come up in the classroom this year with regards to recent events in Israel and our challenging history as a Jewish nation. Under the guidance of professional staff and community consultants, we will address the needs of our children in language which is age appropriate, and answer questions keeping in mind the varying levels of information that our children may or may not know. We ask you to be our partners in communicating the love we have for Israel and the overall message of the ultimate goal of achieving peace.
We are looking forward to a great year. Please enjoy the pictures I am attaching from Israel. One is from friends of mine who made Aliyah this summer (traffic jams only in Israel!) and the other is my husband holding a new addition of another family friend, named Eyal Gilad Naftali – “with hopes of a better future of peace and happiness.”
Shabbat Shalom,
Lisa Steinmetz
