In the Torah reading this week, Yaacov is reunited with his brother Esav. Though Yaacov is fearful that the reunion will be difficult because of their past struggles, the brothers reunite with a hug. In honour of this week’s parsha, I am sharing a “hug” recipe.

Cookies With a Hug (note: dairy recipe)

Ingredients
1. 1 (18 ounce) boxes devil’s food cake mix ( preferably)
2. 2 eggs
3. 1/2 cup vegetable oil
4. 24 -36 Hershey’s Hugs chocolates ( unwrapped)
Directions
1. Combine all ingredients together.
2. Mix well.
3. Batter will be very firm.
4. Drop on ungreased cookie sheet by the teaspoonful. Bake in oven of 350 degrees.
5. Bake for 8-13 minutes.
6. Press a hug in the middle of each cookie.
7. Chocolate will melt in the middle.
8. Let cool.
9. After thoroughly cooled, dust with a tiny bit of powdered sugar (optional).
10. Enjoy.
